Bored?
Well isn't that great. Because we got something pretty great going on at Volvo Penta at the moment and we need you and your expertise on this journey we have ahead of us.
Alright sounds good, you might think. But what if I am not bored? Well that's not really a requirement. But you have to love challenges and you have to love problem solving. Because that is what we do. We solve stuff. And we do it together.
Who are we? You might wonder

Hmm, that seems like a pretty strange equation to me, you might think. Individual and team work at the same time. Well I thought so too before I started here. But that is actually the truth.
At Volvo Penta we always encourage people to be creative. Because in a changing environment as the one we are now facing we can 't know everything.
Well yes. Of course there are few things you need to know. Some qualifications that probably will make the job easier. So let us go through them also.
Qualifications
We are looking for a high skilled mechanic who has great knowledge within Diesel Engines as well as an excellent material knowledge. The position requires a high diesel engine know-how and preferably also experience of engine testing and assembly. In addition to this you have good understanding for complete engine function and system and measure preparation. We are also transforming at the same time in to E-mobility and this will be included into your responsibility. We also believe you have a Secondary School Engineer certificate or similar education and of course a good knowledge of English and Swedish.
But most of all you are interested in product development and likes to put energy and ambition into the daily work.
Are we the perfect match?
Alrighti. It seems like a perfect role to me. However I don't really match all that stuff you just listed. Well no one is perfect. If you match most of them that is probably enough.

PS. you probably need to love to be creative as well. Because this is kind of what you're gonna do in this role as a Prototype Mechanic with specialist skills within tool making.
Role summary
Volvo Penta Product Development Diesel Engines works both with advanced development engineering as well as with on-going enhancement of current products. The Workshop department is responsible for prototype design and testing of all Volvo Penta diesel engines and engine accessories.
In other words you will:
Assembly prototype engines with instruments and measurement points to be ready for test bed or field test.
Produce and change prototype components on all types of Penta drivelines.
Solve problems within different project scopes.
Journey you said? You might think.
Well that's all figuratively speaking. The position actually requires minor travel. But literally however we promise you that joining Volvo Penta and this position will be a great journey. New solutions and technologies are waiting for us around the corner and to face these challenges we have to be curious and eager to try.
