Do you want to be part of developing and leading us in to the next generation of AWD systems? We are currently looking for a Prototype Manager.
Role Description
This role is part of the Engineering Management Team and reports to the Engineering Site Manager in Köping and in matrix to the Global Engineering Systems Manager. The Prototype Department performs prototype machining, assembly, planning and coordination of prototype deliveries to both OEM customers and internal testing. The Prototype Department is also responsible for deliveries of spare parts and low series production to GKN customers. The Prototype Manager leads and develops the team, which consists of both blue collar and white collar workers. The role involves a lot of contacts both within the Köping site and worldwide within Global GKN Engineering.
Key responsibilities in this role include health and safety oversight of the department, and to manage, support and develop the personnel. They also include developing methods and ways of working to support a flawless start of production for new products, mainly focusing on gear development and efficient assembly of the product. The role also includes responsibility for the department's planning, budget and investments. The Prototype Manager also ensures that competence, resources, methods, tooling and equipment are available to support quality, timing and development content for deliveries of prototypes.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
• Relevant tertiary qualification with experience from production.
• Experience from management positions.
• Experience from gear production is an advantage.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal. German language skill is a plus.
