Propulsion Calibration Engineer

The section Vehicle Propulsive Controls & Calibration, within the department Complete Powertrain Engineering, works very close to the end customers and is responsible for development of control algorithms and calibration of the in-house developed software "Propulsive Vehicle Control" (PVC). The PVC controls the engine, transmission and hybrid system regarding propulsive attributes and is allocated in Engine Control Module (ECM). The section also includes the attribute centre Performance & Drivability. The group Torque Management Controls and Calibration is responsible for function development, calibration and verification of functions mainly related to drivability and engine speed control. We are today 16 persons and are now looking to strengthen our team with one more calibration engineer.

As Propulsion Calibration engineer you will mainly work in the industrialisation phase of one or several projects, being part of a dynamic team lead by a Calibration Leader. Your responsibility will be to tune the calibration parameters to fulfil the objectives set for the specific powertrain/vehicle. You will have to verify and fine tune in various ambient conditions, for example high altitude and hot climate, why some travel is required. You will also work together with the other calibration engineers to develop common calibration methods and strategies.

Main responsibilities

• Plan the calibration work and request the necessary vehicles and or rigs
• Find the best balance of parameters to fulfill the drivability and response objectives
• Actively contribute to the development of common calibration methods/strategies

Required qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• Skills in control systems
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Driver license (B) extensive driving experience
• Experience from SW development is meritorious
• Knowledge of engine control is a meritorious
