One of our project managers of the Interactive Institute's department in Eskilstuna will go on parental leave and this leaves an open, temporary position as a project manager at the institute, from September 2014 until October 2015 with a possibility for extension. As a project manager at the Interactive Institute, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of researchers within design, behavior science and computer science. Moreover, the team has competence within graphical and industrial design, product and business development. The team also works with external project partners, where the project manager we're looking for will act as a coordinator as well as a team member, being involved in all phases of the projects. Placement of the position: Eskilstuna and partly in Kista, Stockholm. Time period: 50% or more during September 2014 to October 2015, with a possibility to continue after this period. therese.balksjo@tii.seDesired Qualifications and Skills The person we have in mind for the position: -has worked a couple of years as a project manager in product-/service development project -is self-driven and flexible -has experience from the energy market (electricity or distance heating for example) -has experience from the building industry -has excellent communication skills -speaks and writes fluent Swedish and English -is used to working in, and leading, interdisciplinary teams -can deliver requested results on time -is thorough and well-organized -has a desire to shape the future
Interactive Institute Swedish ICT is an experimental IT & design research institute that conducts world-class applied research and innovation. The department in Eskilstuna focuses on energy, design and behavior and combines these areas when creating innovative concepts and develops tools and artefacts that help people to become more energy efficient. Since 2004, the Interactive Institute Swedish ICT has initiated a series of research projects exploring how design and new technologies can be employed to increase people's awareness of their everyday use of energy. Today the Interactive Institute's sustainability research has gained many awards and lots of attention on an international level. The main objective is to find ways to visualize energy consumption to the user as well as finding new design approaches to promote pro-environmental energy consumption and production.
