Job assignment
A project assistant is needed to establish models of demyelination, such as cuprizone and focal demyelination models in mice and rats, and in collaboration with the MRI core facilities optimizing the MRI visualization of the demyelination and remyelination.
In this project behavioral studies will also be performed. Immunohistochemistry and 3D reconstruction of axons and remyelinating oligodendrocytes will also be performed. Electrophysiology of neurons will be analysed using custom Matlab programs.
Qualifications
• For this position it is required to have at least 60 ECTS of master courses within the field of neuroscience, including courses in animal models of brain disorders, molecular and cellular neurobiology and neuroanatomy
• A good foundation in medical sciences is required including detailed knowledge about physiology
• Experience with animal behaviour studies is required
• 3D tracing of cells is required
• Matlab coding experience is required
• Experience with electrophysiology recordings of neurons in culture is required
• Good collaboration and excellent writing skills are required
