Purchasing is responsible for the procurement of products and services for all of Scania's units around the world. Purchasing responsibility is centralized at Södertälje. To cope with the challenges we face, we are now looking for new staff who are interested in business and technology and who want to help develop the Scania of the future.

Then Scania Global Purchasing, where you have project responsibility for your own segments could be the next step in your career. The department Purchasing Powertrain buys products for our global truck, bus and engine production and is currently in an intensive period with a lot of projects, many of them carried out together with colleagues within the VW group. We are looking for a committed team member interested in business and new technologies, such as electrification, so we can continue to deliver sustainable solutions to our customers.

Your duties

In the role as Project Purchaser for Powertrain components you are responsible for optimization of technology, quality, delivery and cost for new components within the Powertrain Component segment projects. Focus will be on challenging and developing design together with R&D and suppliers to ensure implementation of the parts in production.

You lead the discussion with the suppliers all the way from concept development until start of production and have a key role in request for quotations, technical discussions, cost analysis, order placement and industrialization.

You take an active role both in pre-development and industrialization projects to find the best technical and commercial solution for Scania. The work gives a great opportunity to work with new technology both within mechanical and electronical areas. You work cross functionally together with representatives from Product Development, Quality, Production and After Sales.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is commercial, result oriented, has strong ability to take initiative, are able to

handle multiple open cases and has the ability to look ahead and think strategically. You are good at maintaining relationships and enjoy having many contacts both internally and with our suppliers. We expect you to be an engineer or business graduate with a several year's experience within purchasing or engineering working with supplier developed components. As the role involves a large international network and travel, you will need to be proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English. Other language skills are an advantage.
