What do we do?
Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmentally friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow. We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future! The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.
What will you do?
As Project Planning Manager - ESS, you will be a key player to plan the global battery portfolio for the VOLVO group. You will work in close cooperation with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and solution providers, to develop tailored and effective development plans ensuring to meet product, budget and timing requirements for our future ESS product portfolio. To do so, you will not only create generic development plans which follow the VOLVO development process, but tailor them to the specific project boundaries. You will collect and align specific contributions with external and internal input-providers. In close cooperation with senior project managers and product owners you will ensure that the individual development plan enables to meet product quality, budget and timing.
Furthermore, you will monitor and report the capacity and budget status for the entire ESS organization.
Consolidate generic development plans for component, sub-system & entire ESS development following the VOLVO development process
Collect inputs from tech teams
Generate templates for budget calculations, time plans as well as development schedules
Tailor development pans to specific project demands
Align the development plans with senor project managers and product owners
Align new and future project demands with external stakeholders
Support capacity and budget planning
Reporting of capacity and budget status to internal and external stakeholders
Present planning results in steering committees and management meetings
Who are we looking for?
You have previously worked within complex technology projects, within the commercial vehicle industry or within the Electromobility Tech area.As a person you are courageous, structured, self-driven, able to negotiate, excellent in communication and can manage a wide range of stakeholders effectively. You are results-oriented and want to challenge the current normal. To succeed in this role, you also need to be able to speak and write in English effortlessly.
Relevant Experience:
Education in Electrics, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar
At least 5-6 years of experience in product development
At least 2-3 years of experience in automotive high-voltage battery development
At least 2-3 years of experience in automotive project management or project planning
Solid competence in capacity & budget planning, reporting, and monitoring
Experience in usage of SW tools like MS Project, MS Excel, JIRA and SAP
