SMC is constantly looking to improve its business in the mining and construction equipment and tools area. This implies expansion into new markets, products or services, as well as improving the profitability of current business and exiting non-core business. To remain competitive, it is crucial that we have a robust system for ongoing Business Intelligence, as well as the competence and resources to perform high quality financial/business analysis on a needs basis.
We are now looking for a Project Manager - Business Development to be located in Sweden or China.
Key performance areas
As Project Manager you will lead or support specific SMC Business development projects and studies, linked to the implementation of the SMC Strategy. These projects can be either strategic or operational. You will be responsible for ad hoc business/financial analysis on a needs basis, e.g. for market entry decisions. You will be part of the SMC core team for M&A and will lead or participate in exploratory opportunity studies as well as targeted due diligences.
As Project Manager you will also be responsible for the further development of the SMC Business Intelligence network. This includes the identification, development and coordination of recurring analyses of e.g. competitors and the economic climate, raising the BI competence within SMC by further development of our BI tools, and managing and negotiating with current and potential BI sources.
The position involves international travelling 20-40% of the time and will report to the SMC Business Development Director.
Your profile
To be a successful candidate for this position you need an MBA in marketing or financial analysis or an MSc in Industrial Engineering or the equivalent. The ideal candidate has good leadership skills and strong personal drive. Experience from Project Management is advantageous. As an individual you are analytical, outgoing, a good judge of character and possess excellent communication skills. You will be involved in international travel, as well as dealing with external contacts. Therefore, fluency in English, both spoken and written is essential.
