Consumer Board Innovation and R&D develops solutions and businesses based on renewable materials for consumer packaging applications. Within the Consumer Board Innovation and R&D organization the Material development unit is responsible for the development of new materials for packaging applications with special focus on cellulose-based renewable materials. The team also produces demonstrators and packaging prototypes of the developed materials in its potential field of applications. Projects are launched within the whole scope of developing and introducing new material and solutions to the market. Members in the team are working in or managing projects in close contact with our customers and suppliers. The team is also a key contact point for external R&D providers in the operational field of the team.
To the Material development unit, we are looking for a Project Manager with a few years of experience from product development projects in collaboration with customers and suppliers.
Description
Within a team of technology and business development experts, you will be responsible for planning and conducting pilot and commercial production of renewable cellulose-based materials for packaging components as well as do techno-economic feasibility studies together with your colleagues. This includes development and optimization of production processes as well as material properties. You will have daily contact with customers and suppliers and be responsible to deliver materials and results according to agreed time plans.
Traveling will be a natural part of your work. The position offers a good opportunity to further develop your skills and network while working in the research frontier of cellulose-based materials.
Qualifications
You have minimum a Master of science (Civilingenjör) in Chemical, Polymer, Paper, or Mechanical engineering or other skills that can be judged equally. You have a few years of work experience of product development in a production environment as well as experience of organizing and managing projects. Competences in polymer and cellulose processing are considered as merits.
You have strong analytical and interpersonal skills and the willingness to develop and maintain a wide network within in Stora Enso as well as with customers, suppliers, and R&D providers. Further, you have a good ability to work in matrix organizations and you can market and communicate project results. Good communication skills in both English and Swedish are a requirement.
