Project Manager - Protective Safety

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As PROJECT MANAGER - PROTECTIVE SAFETY within the section Safety Electronics you will lead development projects for the components that provide the occupants in the car protection in a crash situation. Electronic sensors and ECUs detect, determine and activate different devices i.e. airbags and belts. You will lead the System and Component Development (KU) team, plan and monitor the projects and be responsible for contact with vendors and suppliers. Your general technical competence, as well as your ability to manage projects, should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and lead the projects forward. This is a challenging role requiring energy and dedication. In return it will give you an extensive network and great opportunities to develop a very promising career. You will work with the latest technology in the active safety area in which technology rapidly evolves in order to reach the future characteristics and requirements.

Job profile:

• Plan and manage the given assignment through a cross functional team with many international contacts.
• Be responsible for all parts of the project; from requests for quotation for new components to plan and ensure time, technology and cost.

Your profile:

• High level of energy with an ability to support others in a complex environment
• Open minded, innovative and business oriented
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Great experience in project management within electronics engineering, preferably from the automotive industry
• Experience from software- or hardware development
• Good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
• University degree in Electronics or Physics, or equal competence level achieved by long term experience
• Drivers license (B) is a requirement
