What we offer

The Packaging Engineering team is part of Supply Chain Management and are responsible for the development, optimization, and implementation of packaging solutions towards our car plants. All parts delivered to a plant must be transported and handled in packaging that are quality assured, ergonomic to handle and cost efficient. This is applicable in the complete supply chain, including empty return flows. That is why packaging plays an important role in the general logistic setup, quality and landed cost structure. We are now looking for a new team member, Project Manager Packaging Engineering, to strengthen our efforts to launch our upcoming projects. The position is in Gothenburg and travelling is required.

Main tasks
• Define detailed time plan for Packaging development and secure deliveries from the global packaging team in accordance to overall program plan and report Packaging status (KPI's) as well as deliveries in accordance to logic plan to Program Office.
• Share/distribute Program information with all concerned Packaging Engineers, for regional teams via regional coordinators. For example relevant part list and key milestones.
• Technical support to the Packaging Engineers for escalated issues.
• Secure packaging alignment with plant and procurement as well as verification activities are planned and conducted as part of project scope.
• Escalate Packaging deviations in terms of cost, planning and quality to the Program Office.
• Keep track on the Capex Packaging Budget and program finances linked to typebound packaging and support the Program Office in preparing the Investment Request(s).
• Connect to other functions within SCM in view of Packaging Program deliveries.
• Lead packaging improvement projects like process development and cost saving activities.

Competence Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Packaging Engineering/Logistics or equal qualifications
• At least 3 years of experience in packaging engineering and/or a related area
• Project management experience, preferably from cross-functional and international projects
• Team player with strong social skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent ability to use Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Automotive industry experience required, in addition to experience with Automotive Packaging system design and set up
• Able to identify opportunities and drive to make improvements and a passion for efficient logistics
• Ability to manage multiple items at the same time without losing focus or quality
• Very flexible attitude to be able work with people in different time zones
• Positive can-do attitude, able to handle a multitude of uncertainties
• A strong holistic view and high degree of courage, integrity, and business ethics
