What you'll do
We are on a journey with a clear objective - to become best-in-class in Packaging. To do this we have one of the most exciting periods in Volvo Cars history ahead of us.
We will rethink how we develop returnable packaging and manage our returnable packaging terminals and flows and how we handle our packaging in our plants and in our aftermarket. To succeed we are in the process of automating repetitive tasks and identifying problems, to improve and reduce cost in our operations by Value Stream Mapping, Hackathons and GEARED initiatives. Cost management is key to success, and we are now recruiting a new Project Manager that will be a key part of our transformation journey.
As Project Manager, you belong to Global Projects and report to the Global Head of Projects. The role is based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Global Projects is part of Global Packaging Engineering and Operations within Procurement and Supply Chain, and our mission is to take on projects to get lowest end to end cost.
We are looking for a Project Manager who takes responsibility for driving cost saving projects in the packaging area.
You will be part of or lead projects, and identify saving potentials by
* Being the key representative towards GEARED
* Leading global cost saving projects and forums generate cost reduction of parts in running production.
* Be first point of contact towards future Hackathon events and other cost saving mapping initiatives from stakeholders.
* Drive and lead OKR's related to the packaging area.
* Participate and coordinate Value stream mapping activities.
* Participate in fairs and exhibitions to identify next generation of packaging concepts.
What you'll bring
You are an experienced Project Leader, and accountable for its success and business impact. You have a passion for the customer and creating returnable packaging flows that are best-in-class, advocating new technologies and data-driven approach. You solve problems going from the customer to how the technology works. In addition we also see that you have the following experience/skills:
* 5+ year's experience in Logistics and have a degree within Logistics or Engineering
* A logistics expert with a profound knowledge of packaging and of the logistics network set-up
* Possess strong decision-making and prioritization skills with the ability to think end-to-end
* Excellent communicator, you are used to interacting with a wide set of stakeholders and getting buy-in for your ideas
* Project Management. Manage a single or portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
* Communications. Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of internal /(external) communications.
* Contract Management. Manage a portfolio of contracts and negotiate service level agreements. Will also plan, coordinate and supervise activities relating to major contracts.
* Client & Customer Management. Manage relationships with clients while also helping senior colleagues manage more important client and customer relationships.
* Financial Management & Control. Work within established systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control.
* Strategic Planning. Work within established strategic planning systems to achieve specific goals within area of responsibility.
* Improvement / Innovation. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems and procedures, and use established change management programs to address them.
