As Project Manager in IT Consulting, you are responsible for planning, organizing, reporting and following up a project in accordance to an approved project management plan. You have the ability to manage different projects on a cross-functional level in a global organization.
You feel comfortable taking initiative and working independently although at the same time available to share your experience with your fellow colleagues. With a proactive and flexible attitude and the ability to build, develop and grow professional business relationships with your stakeholders you will secure the success of the projects that you are managing as well as the success of our organization as a whole. Being professional in every aspect comes natural for you.
Job Mission
The Project Manager leads a temporary organization established for the purpose of delivering a unique service, solution, implementation or other result. A project is limited by time and cost. It delivers the agreed result within the defined scope and limitations. The Project Manager is responsible for the initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing processes throughout a project.
At early/first steps of professional development, the Project Manager (Step B) is leading an assignment with the size lower than 400 hours and with less complexity.
Job Context
A Project Manager (Step B) working either on a part of a project or an independent assignment, in the frame of a proof of concept or a prestudy.
Responsibilities and Powers
• Use the Volvo Group Project Management Methods, Templates, Tools, Policies, Guidelines and Processes
• Maintain professional relationship with the stakeholders
• Develop the assignment description (mission, deliverables, timing) and ensure that it is validated by the Line Manager of Assignment Leader, and / or the Requestor
• Plan, organize, report and follow up the assignment in accordance to the approved assignment description
• Carry out the work according to agreed cost and time
• Ensure that the deliverables produced are achieving the agreed quality
• Regularly communicate information about the assignment to the stakeholders
• Regularly report the plans, results and deviations
• Manage and distribute the work to the staff within the scope of the assignment description
This position requires:
• A university degree (engineering and/or economics) or equivalent
• Documented leadership with the emphasis on the ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams
• Have capacity to execute against set targets and a ?can do? attitude
• Have strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Business level in English and fluent in Chinese - both written and spoken
• Experience from infrastructure and operations and integration is an advantage
