What we offer
Our customer's base is growing globally and so does the spare part volumes shipped around the world. To secure an efficient and uninterrupted supply to all the relevant markets and customers, the customer's supply chain network and operations capabilities needs to be aligned with growing demands on emission reduction as well as cost efficiency in their air freights.
They are now seeking a Logistics Project Manager to take up the task in making their air shipment process at Gothenburg central distribution center much more flow-oriented and efficient. A pre-study has been made on the area showing large savings in m3 shipped, packaging materials and manning - now they want to realize this potential.
Your key tasks
* To grasp understanding of the customer's as-is air shipment process by shopfloor gembas and connect with stakeholders
* Gain understanding in the pre-study pilot that has been carried out, and its result
* Form and coordinate a small work group assigned to the improvement project
* Follow up and report the progress of the project to steering committee and/or reference group
You will also implement or be part of the implementation of the following:
* New light-weight pallet designed for air cargo
* Levelling of air freight order releases
* New / modified setup of Production Channels (PRCs) that steers order releases
* Optimize layout and equipment required for enabling improved process
* Improved setup for goods dispatch and invoicing
* Develop new instructions and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) where required
* Summarize the process improvement's effect on financial and environmental savings
A separate Project Charter containing additional details exist for the project. The task implies that you will have stakeholders in several different areas, e.g. WH Execution, Transport Execution, BAM/IT and Engineering.
Who are we looking for?
You have a broad competence within the supply chain- and logistics field, with minimum 5 years' experience in general Logistics (transports, packaging, material handling). You have prior experience in setting up new logistics flows from pre-study to execution and have the ability to lead and manage both projects as well as people involved in the processes. You have both a technical / analytic mind with strong business acumen, and you possess the ability to recommend, shape and drive necessary changes in conjunction with the management team and others within our organisation.
For this position, we are looking for someone with a great communication skills, who's structured and have an analytical mindset, strong sense of delivery and a personal eagerness to accomplish results - in time and with quality.
University degree in Supply Chain & Logistics / Industrial- / Mechanical engineering is meritorious, although experience from similar projects with successful results is more important. You shall be able to work on site minimum 3-4 days per week.
