About the role
As a project manager, you lead the planning and implementation of commercial projects with overall goals for a satisfied customer, tight cost control, robust risk management and rapid implementation with optimal resource utilization within each project. You take an active role in the project development phase where you are part of the team that conducts investigations onboard to find the best solutions for the specific vessel. You both participate in the work before installation and take an active role in the work on site and it is important that you have a technical background to understand the many technical challenges and opportunities that HVAC projects entail.
The role also include:
• Develop project plans that include production and staffing plans, schedules, cost allocation, logistics and procurement plans, third-party agreements, travel, etc.
• Project development, surveys, feasibility studies.
• Monitoring the project's progress, including timetables, financial status and rapid feedback to management.
• Ensure that the project deliveries are in accordance with the customer's requirements and expectations
• To some extent supervision and project management at site
• Provide support for sales at customer meetings and with updated market information and with analysis of scope and contract terms, its implications for delimitations, complexity, cost effects and other conditions.
• Ensure quality and environmental compliance with project deliverables
• Actively participate in the continuous development of the company's best practice and knowledge.
Who are you?
We believe that you have a technical education, preferably within HVAC with added project manager training or equivalent. However, solid experience can to some extent replace education requirements. Experience working as a project manager and managing complex commercial technical projects in terms of negotiations, customer interaction, human management, planning, risk reduction, change management. It is an advantage if you have a genuine interest and experience from work in the marine and offshore industry.
You have good computer skills when it comes to MS Office and administrative SW tools for project management. Your English skills are very good in both speech and writing and if you have additional language skills in other European or Asian languages then it is a merit.
You have an energetic personality with integrity, critical thinking and ability to solve problems and can make sound judgments and give thoughtful advice. You are cost conscious, business oriented and customer focused. You enjoy working in teams but can also work independently. You have an innovative, flexible and open mindset and a good communication ability.
Since the role requires travelling to the US and other countries as well, therefor it is important that you are approved for a visa and ESTA. The scope of travel is moderate, but it is important that you can travel at relatively short notice if necessary.
