We are seeking a self-motivated, nimble UX Program Manager with strong ownership to be a force-multiplier for the Car UX Leadership & Operations team, amplifying our efforts and impact. Role description
The User Experience (UX) Program Manager provides program management operational support for the Head of Car UX within and across functional teams by increasing communication and connection points, streamlining the UX design process, and driving product excellence. You'll work cross-functionally and collaborate with managers, designers and research teams to plan projects, document & communicate milestones, assess risks, and help projects meet deadlines. As a UX Program Manager, you will also manage project-related communications, reviews, and business operations with team members, executives and other stakeholders. You are a master planner and a flexible project manager who can balance multiple projects on track and on time. You should be comfortable with change, embrace the opportunity to wear many hats, and relish the chance to solve hard problems in short order.
Responsibilities
* Ensure proper overview, coordination and communication of programs and priorities to the Head of Car UX. Partner with UX leadership in key project decision-making, including: requirements gathering, scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination of teams and reviews
* Facilitate communication across disciplines for multiple projects and accounts to create alignment and efficiencies. Contribute to the creation of delivery management processes and procedures to standardize delivery efforts as the studio grows.
* Lead design delivery, strategic communication and approval by removing obstacles, coordinating reviews with stakeholders and leadership, communicating team status, and empowering designers to own their timelines
* Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among our team
* Drive processes for onboarding of new team members
* Attend and help plan studio and community events, workshops, and conferences.
Basic Qualifications
These are the minimum requirements for an aspirant to be considered for the position applying to:
* 3+ years delivering results, making projects meet their goals, and keeping stakeholders properly informded.
* 2+ years experience managing vendors, studio operations and event planning and coordination.
* 2+ years experience in end-to-end project solutions including meeting project milestones and deliveries.
* 2+ years experience managing and interfacing with executives & leadership teams
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* Project management, communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
* Strong bias for action, sense of urgency, and "get it done" attitude
* Background working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team and working directly with designers, product managers, program managers, and developers
* Strong design process improvement background and experience managing the operations of creative programs
* Experience managing complex, multi-discipline projects.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with and manage a wide variety of professional staff.
* Ability to learn new software quickly; experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Confluence, or JIRA is a plus.
* Knowledge of and experience with applying user-centered design processes.
* Understanding of areas of specialization within the greater design landscape, including but not limited to Design Research, Visual Design, and Content Design.
* Ability to create experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows, and wireframes.
* Experience with vendor management.
* High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision. A background on design or other creative disciplines.
