Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
In Jönköping, we develop and manufacture qualified equipment based on electronics, mechanics, and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in cooperation with other companies within the Saab group as well as external to Saab. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we are supplier of equipment to two of the major aircraft manufacturers in the world, Boeing and Airbus.
We have a long history in the development and manufacturing of optical systems such as sights and displays for use in aircrafts and helicopters. Our ambition is to further grow this business and we therefore need to increase our engineering staff.
Your role
We have developed a novel type of Head-Up Display (HUD) to be used in aircraft and helicopters and the activities around this product is expected to grow during the coming years. The product comprises many technical domains such as mechanics, electronics, optics and software. The HUD is a vital part of pilot's information and presentation system.
As a Project Manager you will be responsible for reaching our goals (finically, technically and timely) for the final development and customer adaptation of the HUD family of products. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of about 20 people. The stakeholders in the project are the Division management, marketing, product management and the operations management of the Product Area.
Your qualifications
We are looking for you, who have a university degree in engineering, preferably electrical engineering and experience of product development and management of qualified product development. You must have ambition and drive and be comfortable in taking a large degree of responsibility. It is important to have a clear business mind to guide the project to a commercial success.
You must also have good communication skills and be able to blend into the product team. Since the internal work in the team is conducted in Swedish combined with the fact that we are working on the international market, you must be fluent in both Swedish and English, verbally as well as and in writing.
