Do you have experience working with noise and vibrations? Are you passionate about eliminating noise and vibrations that causes major damage and related cost to machines, and injuries that causing lifetime suffering for people? Then this position might be for you!
About us RISE (Research Institutes of Sweden) is Sweden's research institute and innovation partner. Passionate problem solvers meet at RISE. We need more sharp minds who want to be involved in solving some of the world's most important and perhaps exciting problems. Our mission unites our different roles, tasks, and perspectives into a larger task. Together with our customers and partners, we develop competitive solutions and prerequisites that drive sustainable development forward.
About the role We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team and collaborate with both Swedish and international companies and research groups. In this role, you'll have freedom to influence your work, as well as the opportunity to create, manage, and complete research projects and assignments. You are an expert in noise and vibrations but also a cog in the wheel to effect real change. Together with industry, academic partners, the labor market partners, the work environment agency, standardization committees and legislation bodies you make it happen, for real!
You are involved in the entire chain from idea generation, applied concept development, and formulation of the application or quote to practical planning and implementation. Our work is funded by national/international funding agencies or as commercial assignments.
Eliminating harmful vibrations in society is not a one-man job, it must be carried out in collaboration with other central actors. We do this, among other things, by running the NollVibCenter, which is a forum for education and collaboration.
The position is located at Mölndal.
Who are you? You hold a master's in engineering, or a PhD in mechanics or physics, in other words, a relevant education and years of experience working with noise and vibrations (NVH). You are strongly committed in the customer's situation and underlying problems in products and able to combine research questions with industrial understanding.
You are used to be working both practically and theoretically. For example, experimentally we are measuring vibrations on machines or biological tissues with a laser doppler vibrometer or carrying out studies in a production environment. Theoretically, it could be signal processing or implementing our own patented technology in machines, so-called ATVA technology.
As a person, you are analytical, outgoing, proactive, unprestigious and easy to collaborate with. You are fluent in Swedish and English in speech and writing and can present results in an easy-to-understand manner, both orally and in writing.
Are we right for each other? We cannot promise you an easy job, but on the other hand we have many committed and enthusiastic colleagues and many exciting challenges to tackle. However, balance in life is important why RISE offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely up to 40% a week. You will work in a dynamic environment that gives you development opportunities both professionally and personally. At RISE, we want you to succeed and feel good, because then you, together with your colleagues will contribute to a sustainable future and a competitive Swedish industry.
