The role:
The role involves taking leadership of the site's cross-functional projects across a wide range of possible areas within Sweden Operation's Supply Chain management and New Product Introduction. The portfolio contains many exciting opportunities in all areas of life cycle management such as Product Establishment, Product Divestments, enabling production capacity to move from one AstraZeneca site to another and leadership of different supply chain optimization projects.
The project teams are multi-disciplinary with participants from all parts of Sweden Operations and with links to stakeholders and project team members in other parts of AstraZeneca, e.g. Business Development, Pharmaceutical Technology & Development, marketing companies and Global Supply Chain functions.
The role also offers opportunities to set-up and lead larger change programs with a high degree of sensitivity and complexity conduct strategic reviews for future supply and manage complex internal and external stakeholder environments as well as oversee multiple projects' interdependencies.
You will join a dynamic, high performing team of project management professionals serving Sweden Operation's needs.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
Leading cross-functional programs or projects and portfolios by establishing and leading teams in accordance with the AZ Project Management Framework (PMF) in order to deliver objectives efficiently and effectively.
Facilitating the resolution and handling of a wide range of complex problems within cross-functional teams, that requires well-developed conceptual thinking and judgment.
Manages budget costs & benefits associated with projects on behalf of Sweden Operations.
Identifying risks and proposing solutions that balance business needs and costs.
Communicating effectively at different levels and across different functions within AZ in order to negotiate with and influence others over a wide range of issues.
Ensuring that there will be smooth handover into 'business as usual' and that there are minimum negative effects on core business activities as a consequence of project execution.
Managing resources and motivate and develop team members.
Driving continuous improvement.
Support the development and maintenance of Project and Programme management skills, processes and capabilities across Operations.
As a Project Manager in Supply Chain Management or New Product Introduction, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Experience in, and knowledge of, the pharmaceutical industry including experience in at least three of the following areas: supply chain management, new product introduction, business development, logistics and distribution, regulatory/quality assurance.
Practical knowledge of project/program management principles and techniques with proven delivery capability.
Understanding of Lean principles and practices.
Proven ability to work within complex organizations and influence senior stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills as well as an excellent leadership track record.
Ability to use English as working language.
Knowledge of Swedish is preferred.
Ability to operate independently and make sound business decision with limited information available.
