The Project Manager, together with the project core team, has the full responsibility to deliver the project scope on time and to the agreed budget. You will be part of a team of project managers that work together to continuously improve ways of working and ensure that the delivery to our customers continues to exceed expectations.
The project manager reports to the Project portfolio manager and the steering committee of the project/projects that he/she is responsible for.
Key responsibilities:
1. The Project Manager has the responsibility for implementation of the contract and delivery of the project to the customer, with a focus on time, within budget and all necessary quality and performance criteria.
2. Responsible for the WBS, Detailed Project Schedule, Customer Interface, Risk & Opportunity Management, Project Improvement Management, Project Launch,
Change Management and Contractual Obligation Management, Budget allocation and monitoring, Project Reporting internally both status and financial performance.
3. The Project Manager leads the project core team to ensure the result of the project and to engage the project team members to do their best throughout the project lifetime.
• It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to define and secure the support of the business partners and extended project team.
• Responsible for the management of all communication with the Customer.
• Lead the Core Team effort to meet periodic financial targets.
• The Project Manager must adapt his/her leadership and motivational skills to the project, the team members capabilities and knowledge, the time and tools available and the results desired.
• The Project Manager will develop "must do" strategies to increase team effectiveness and the belief that "none of us is as good as all of us.", in order to help the team go through the distinct stages of 'forming, storming, norming and performing.
4. It is also the mandate of the Project Manager to adapt the allocation of work packages between the roles and the day-to-day delegation of special tasks to the Core Team members in order to optimize the total project
• The Project Manager has a specific communication responsibility to the Project Managers of Sub-Divisions when needed.
5. Other accountabilities within Region North such as root cause analysis, improvement activities, learnt lessons enabling a learning and improved organizational performance.
• University background preferred, PMI certification is an advantage.
• Relevant experience required, having lead projects 4-7 years.
• Signalling system knowledge preferred. Conventional wayside.

• Independent position. Self-reliant. Decision maker within boundaries of project charter.
