Axis Communications is looking for a driven and organized Project Manager for our Core Technologies team. The team is responsible for our long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Vision, Imaging and System ensuring continual market leadership for Axis in the years to come.
We believe that suitable candidates have an educational background in engineering, preferably with a master's degree in a relevant subject and at least 3-5 years of project management experience. It's important that you have strong abilities both in planning and executing projects as well as managing the people within them, making them grow and develop. We also believe you have previous experience from Linux as well as of hardware and software aspects of embedded systems. Knowledge of areas such as optics, image sensors, video analytics, networks protocols, web services, patent processes and the surveillance market are definite merits.
You have very good Swedish and English skills (written and oral) and are proficient in MS Office and MS Projects.
THE CORE TECHNOLOGIES TEAM
The Core Technologies team is responsible for the long-term technology agenda within the strategic areas Vision, Imaging and System. The team perform technology roadmapping; execute the roadmap by developing technologies and assist toward platform integration of technologies. The team also acts as a competence centre within Axis with regard to the core competence areas. In addition to this we define test methods and standards to be used by Axis as a whole.
JOB DESCRIPTION
To ensure that Axis future technology offerings are relevant and successful it is critical to be able to deliver new technologies in a timely and efficient manner. The technologies must be validated from market- as well as technical perspectives. In order to achieve this we must not only set up and manage the projects in a superior way, but also make sure our project tools and processes are up to the challenges. Your projects will be concerned with developing new cutting edge technologies towards integration in Axis technology platforms. This will include evaluation and development of new software and hardware as well as managing more theoretical technology analysis efforts. Patent and IPR issues will also be an important part of all activities. You main activities will be to:
• Assist the project Customer in elicitation of requirements.
• Delegating tasks to project members.
• Leading the project team.
• Giving feedback to project members.
• Handling communication with external and internal stakeholders.
• Planning and re-planning of the project.
• Ensuring correct deliverables and fulfilment of closure criteria's.
• Contribute to development of our internal project management tools and processes.
