Packet Core Business Area Digital Services (BDGS) develop and deliver packet core solutions for mobile networks. With us, you'll be part of the next step in the development of our products. We enable millions of simultaneous connected mobile users while handling traffic from IoT to 4K video in Gbit speeds. BDGS will become the partner of choice of Telecom operators using the latest technologies in cloud and automation to manage complexity so the ambitious can differentiate with TCO efficient solutions for programmable 4G and 5G networks, automated operations and digital engagements.

We are looking for a Project leader/Technical supervisor within Product Development Unit (PDU) Packet Core ICT environment. This role will handle and fulfill the needs from our stakeholder's requirements in the infrastructure of Design and Test environment. The Packet Core environment consists of multiple Ericsson products for network elements which needs to be combined and set-up to work as a functioning and stable environment. They exist in both integrated versions with dedicated hardware, and as virtualized versions that run on different hypervisors such as OpenStack (CEE+RedHat), VMWare as well as Cloud Native platform using Kubernetes.

The first project would be to work with our Test Environment and to keep our ongoing hardware ramp up together. This ramp up contains of about 2000 physical servers, and we wish to see this project leader/tech supervisor to take an end to end responsibility of the delivery and to drive this more as a project. It's a rather complex delivery with many different sets of test channels which should be built out of those 2000 servers. Several different teams are working together, but we need someone to govern the whole chain to be able to give better final estimation times to our internal stakeholders.
Within the unit of Packet Core ICT environment, you will be working with colleagues who hold positions as Linux Sys admins, Dev Ops engineers, ICT Network engineers, Test configuration management engineers and Design architects. You will work tight together with the Operational Product Owner (OPO) in the team and the Area Product owner (APO) which spans over several teams.

You will
Discussing the feature backlog with OPO and stakeholders and make sure it is visible, and clear
Securing the ETA and evolve a lean process for our E2E delivery. It involves detailed break down with architectures, secure forecast, procurement, installation of hardware in Global ICT Center in Stockholm, securing rack positions/infra switches with Global teams, configure the software by PDU PC ICT Env team, final destination is verification of test channels made by our stakeholders.
Securing that the team knows what we do and why we do it to ensure high team motivation
Be participating in the F0-F4 (pre-study to release) decision for their features
Initiating Feature Analysis/Quick Study involving General System managers, Design Architects, Technical Test coordinators, Test architects etc. and verify that the solution has the right scope fit for the purpose.
Developing business and technical understanding within the domain
Discovering value, improvements, technical debts and make adoptions together with XFT (Cross-functional teams) for placement in Product Backlog
Synchronizing with OPO's / APO's
Ensuring that the solutions designed by XFT are cost-efficient
Focusing on alignment, reusability and technology leadership for the area while translating business value into product realization


To be successful in the role you must have
3-5 years' experience as an Project leader/Technical supervisor/Product owner or similar
High business understanding and good understanding of the domain/area
Good presentation skills to be able to connect with partners, operators and customers at various levels
Good people skills and appreciate collaboration
Experience from working according to Lean and Agile
High energy and love to handle commitments
