Circular IKEA is one of the roads forward to reach many more of the many people with smarter use of resources, by prolonging the life of products and materials, giving them more value within the limits of one planet.
The transformation of IKEA into a circular business is underway, and it is one of our biggest ambitions and challenges for the future. Over time it will affect everything we do: how and where we meet our customers, how and what products and services we develop, how we source materials, and develop the IKEA supply chain. This will enable us to prolong the life of products and materials by working with reuse, refurbishment, re-manufacturing, and recycling. Our ambition is to be circular by 2030, aiming to accelerate society's transformation into the circular economy.
Today, the understanding of circularity among the many consumers is still limited. The evolution of our range and product narrative, moving beyond aspects of sustainability we already cover today, will be challenged by the growing consumer awareness about the impacts of consumption and a wish to not be wasteful. We have a unique opportunity to set a standard for customer facing communication about what circularity can do to contribute to a more sustainable life at home.
As a Circular IKEA Project Leader, you lead the development of a range and product communication strategy, centered on finding a simple and easy to understand narrative around the circularity. You will connect with many internal stakeholders to establish a comprehensive approach to a strategy based on an existing communication framework of IKEA, and find external resources to secure a context for this exciting new topic.
The assignment is located in Älmhult, an environment based on creativity and innovation, which gives you the opportunity to work and interact with people from all around the world. Älmhult has excellent commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg two times a day.
About the job:
You are responsible for the development of the strategic approach of customer facing product and range communication connected to the topic of circularity.
You will work with internal and external competence leaders and specialist to develop a comprehensive communication approach, delivering to our ambitions to enable the many people to acquire, care for, and pass on products in circular ways.
