Want to be part of a fast moving drug discovery company in the fight against cancer and other serious diseases? In Affitech You will have the opportunity to work with world class teams to move leading candidates through our internal pipeline or via external collaboration projects, from initial candidate selection through in vitro and in vivo studies to characterize candidates, to pre-clinical studies, while maintaining the quality standards needed. Currently our pipeline is concentratiing on GPCR targets using our patented CBAS technology platform as well as other targets from our MBAS technology.
The location is in Oslo, Norway
Your special area within the organization will be pre-clinical assay development and in vitro assay development support.
You will also lead the preclinical assay development group, developing the needed assays for our candidates as they proceed through preclinical studies.
You will be directly involved in assay development (PK, ADA and potency assay),tech transfer of assays to CROs, revision of data supplied by CRO, revision and approval of validation plans, responsible for in house sample analysis of CRO-based material and coordination of in house work related to preclinical development studies.
You will expand your skills in discovery, cell and molecular-based assays and protein production and purification in bacterial and cell-based systems, with your achievements giving you more responsibilities, and allowing you to develop initiatives, as you go.
Keeping current on the newest methodology is a must, and you will attend external and internal courses to keep you at the cutting edge. You will operate in a matrix environment, running projects as well as developing within area-specific centres of excellence, with goal and performance management leading to pay-for performance compensation.
You have a PhD degree, Molecular or Cell Biology, Immunology or a related subject, along with recent courses keeping you current in your field, and several years of hands-on experience with molecular biology, cell biology and immunology in an industrial environment. Cell Biology /in vitro Biology methods (including primary cell isolation and activation, cell viability and cytotoxicity), assay development HTS format of functional assays (such as cell migration, calcium mobilization, phosphorylation and internalization), GPCR targets, experience with protein expression in mammalian cells as well as antibody/antigen kinetic studies are of central interest for us.
You will also have documented experience in leading successful teams, and preferably experience in a related industry working in a matrix environment. Experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry is required.
