Project Leader, Cummins-Scania XPI Fuel Systems Product Design and Development, Scania Group

For the last 20 years, Scania has partnered with Cummins Engine Company in a joint venture to develop and manufacture common rail fuel systems. The main product development site for the high-pressure pump and fuel injectors used in the XPI system is located at Cummins Fuel Systems in Columbus, USA and since 2017 a product development and product support office has been established here at Scania in Södertälje to allow for a closer cooperation with current and future European customers and suppliers.

The XPI design and development team at Scania is looking to add a Program Leader to the team to help drive the development and implementation of the next generation fuel injectors and pumps at Scania and the Traton Group.

Your role
As a Program Leader you will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of Cummins-Scania fuel systems development programs that meets customer and business needs. The Program Leadership role has six major categories of work: manage the plan, manage scope, manage schedule, manage resources, manage communication, and manage change. You will work in close cooperation with the team in the USA and worldwide. Additional Program Leadership responsibilities and duties include:

• Define tangible and measurable customer expectations and business outcomes, and leads the program to achieve both.
• Determine the scope, schedule, and resources with key cross-functional, cross-Business Units, and external stakeholders.
• Track and communicate performance against the program contract with senior leadership on an occasional basis. Interface and communicate to internal stakeholders on a regular basis.

Your profile
We are looking for a driven leader who has consistently achieved results, even under tough circumstances. You are an effective communicator that can convey a clear understanding of unique needs of different audiences and stakeholders. You are able to establish and maintain the balance of scope, schedule and resources over the course of a project.

Desired Skills & Competencies:

• Sc. or M.Sc. degree
• Project Management training and/or experience preferred
• Experience in new product development is beneficial
• Project Issue and Risk Management
• Planning and prioritization of work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
• Excellent English communication skills and familiarity working in an international environment
