Project Manager - Protective Safety

At RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT you will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding luxury cars from Volvo. Together with other engineers over the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. As PROJECT LEADER - CHASSIS ELECTRONICS within the group Steering Electronics and Functions you will be leading all efforts to deliver chassis technology for future car programs. Chassis electronics are crucial tools to be able to produce active safety functions - an area where Volvo Cars has a leading position in the car business and aim to maintain it. Functionality is implemented in a distributed environment and as the Project Leader (KU) you will communicate and cooperate across many functions of the company. You will also coordinate supplier activities and secure their deliveries. Steering Electronics and Functions is part of the Chassis engineering department. Chassis engineering develop first class mechanics, electronics and software for suspension, brakes and steering. We have a passion for developing technology to fulfil aggressive targets and aim to be the leading actor in the areas of active safety and vehicle dynamics.

Job profile:

• Establish time plans and cost calculations.
• Agree upon delivery planning and cost breakdowns with suppliers
• Define total need for analysis and testing
• Follow up results in execution internally and at supplier
• Secure deliveries to car programs
• Status reporting and deviation control

Your profile:

• Status reporting and deviation control
• University degree in Electrical engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent experience
• Three years experience of developing electronic hardware and software for embedded systems in industrial applications
• Desire and ability to contribute and develop both the team and the work processes
• Independent
• Strong team player
• Excellent communication skills and fluent in English
• Competence in functional safety workflow and ISO26262 is meritorious
