Position description:
Project: Packaging Engineering
Dept 84840 Packaging Engineering is responsible for the development, optimize and implementation of packaging solutions towards our car plants.
All parts delivered to a plant must be transported and handled in packaging that are quality assured, ergonomic to handle and cost efficient. This is applicable in the complete supply chain, including empty return flows. This is why product packaging plays an important role in the general logistic setup, quality and Landed Cost structure.
To secure the packaging engineering deliverables in a quality assured way we are now looking for a new collegue to secure our packaging deliverbles in a specific project related to industrializing one of our car models in both our European car plants Gothenburg, Sweden and Gent, Belgium.
The project is estimated to 100% occupation until end of 2018. The position includes travelling.
Main responsibilities
• To implement packaging solutions for batch and sequence parts
• Packaging engineering work towards and together with part suppliers and packaging supplier to ensure timely system updates of relevant packaging data
• Ensure cost efficient and quality assured packaging solutions
• Provide support to local plant packaging engineers when necessary
• Status reports & packaging development
• Work to limit unnecessary or in other way unwanted repacks
• Continuous contact with departments such as MHE, R&D, Purchasing, SCC, IE / Production etc.
• Ensure flawless project launch in terms of packaging readiness and availability.
• Ensure smooth and cost efficient flows of packaging and components.
• Take appropriate actions whenever required.
Required qualifications
• University degree or equivalent experience
• Extensive Experience in Packaging Engineering
• Project participation experince
• Experience in Logistics
• Fluent in written and spoken English
