Position description:
At Manufacturing, you are part of a global team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations of our customers. We ensure lean, affordable and efficient production processes with optimum balancing of process & product requirements.
As an Annual Strategy Manager (ASM) you may work in the Annual (Strategic) phase or with Plant Strategy.
Main tasks:
Annual phase:
• Manage and develop VCM technical strategies and lead the relevant working groups
• Secure development and delivery of the Annual Plan (BOP, technical strategies, requirements, guidelines, etc.)
• Secure Commonality and Flexibility in VCM plants
• Lead VCME benchmarking and studies in- and outside Volvo Cars on technical matters
• Lead and/or participate in manufacturing studies in Annual Process (strategy, feasibility, cycle plan ...)
Plant Strategy:
• Develop and assure the industrial structure for Car Assembly plants, local plant footprint and possible links to Cars Body Components, Engine plants and Logistics (SCM).
• Support, in close cooperation with cycle-plan manager, alignment of volume prerequisites and production set-up for introduction of new programs
Responsibility:
• Plan follow-up and report actions and status within the assignment
• Ensure that targets are met, initiate corrective actions as required
• Represents and speaks on behalf of VCM in annual work and strategic issues
Required qualifications:
• University degree or equivalent in engineering
• Practical experience from the production process and management
• Experience from product and manufacturing engineering
• Fluent in spoken and written English
