Do you want to energize your career by working in challenging customer projects with advanced power and electrical control systems? Hitachi Energy, Grid and Power Quality Solutions (GPQS) unit (former FACTS - Flexible AC Transmission Systems) in Västerås, currently has several vacancies for Station Operation and Monitoring Engineers within our Global Center of Competence / Control Engineering department. Your responsibilities
As Station Operation and Monitoring Engineer with focus area on SCADA, you will work with high quality deliveries and cost-efficient engineering solutions for our customers.
In close collaboration with our Control Engineers and other colleagues you will take responsibility for the design, implementation, and verification of the SCADA interface between our customers' overall, and remote system to the MACHTM Control system controlling the PQS application.
You will hold a frequent contact with other engineering groups, project managers, local Hitachi Energy offices and our customers to achieve the best results.
Your background
You have an engineering related degree, ideally computer science with a specialization in data communication and network technology. Similar training can also be considered.
You have preferably some years of experience from similar engineering positions working with process- or substation automation and operator interfaces.
Relevant experience in some of the following areas will be considered meritorious:
Practice in data communication and network technology with focus on SCADA
Experience in protocols used for energy automation systems like IEC 60870-5-101/104, DNP 3 and the corresponding communication structures as well as data engineering
Know-how in IEC 61850 as the SCADA implementation model
Good knowledge of Excel (which is normally used by customers for the engineering of the SCADA signal list)
Background of Hitachi Energy MicroSCADA and related tools, e.g., IET600, and/or Hitachi Energy Control system, MACHTM is considered a strong plus
This position involves a great deal of customer contacts and close cooperation with colleagues worldwide; therefore, English is required, both verbally and written; Swedish is considered as an additional plus.
