Project Coordinator - Material Handling Engineering
At VOLVO CARS MATERIAL PLANNING AND LOGISTICS you are part of a global supply and production team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. In close collaboration with people inside and outside the company, we drive and lead the supply chain - from the supplier to the customer - in a lean way. As PROJECT COORDINATOR within the group Material Handling Engineering (MHE) you are responsible for securing and coordinating new car program activities/deliveries within the MHE area. You will be part of a team of 25 engineers divided into geographical locations at Gothenburg, Gent, Olofström and Skövde covering all Volvo Cars Manufacturing's car- and component plants. The team is responsible for the development and implementation of material handling processes and equipment in accordance with our vehicle cycle plan and manufacturing targets/deliverables. Your coordinator responsibility will be the MHE development in Gothenburg, the Volvo Cars Torslanda plant (VCT).
Job profile:
• Coordinate all product projects at VCT MHE department
• Coordinate pre-studies in development projects
• Breakdown of project targets into in-plant logistic targets e.g. man-hour
• Support with input to our virtual series builds for new car programs
• Follow up investments related to in-plant logistics connected to new car programs
• Early stage assessment of complex component variety connected to new car programs and planning of material handling to fit our off-line material picking facilities
• Coordinate and follow up the MHE installation planning related to the overall car programs
Your profile:
• University degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Engineering experience within Logistic Engineering
• Project management skills
• Competence of improvement tools, Green Belt
• Holistic business view and strategic thinking
• Team player with good social skills
• Good communication skills in English, orally and written
• Competence of forklift free fleet parks is meritorious
