Vehicle EECA (Electrical, Electronics, Connectivity & Automation) being the Strategic steering line for these Purchasing activities within GTP, organizes a strong collaboration within teams with global spread. We are also the operational line responsible for EECA Europe business all along the purchasing process (sourcing/projects/operations/revenue service parts). Our team is responsible to drive end-to-end purchasing activities whilst securing QDCF-TSR (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability and Risk Management) targets.
Role description & Main responsibilities
Electronics area is at the heart of the future development in the Volvo Group, by providing the architecture and vital systems of vehicle intelligence in the Volvo products. As a Project Buyer you will be responsible for driving sourcing and project activities within the Electronics area. You will work closely with your colleagues in the project and commodity team to secure the future supplier base of the Volvo Group.
Some key responsibilities and activities will be to:
Develop the Sourcing plan for components & systems according to cross-functional time plans
Manage Sourcing activities in project phase and drive the supplier selection process
Drive all relevant activities to deliver on QDCFTSR targets during Project phase
Monitor, identify and mitigate risks in the Project phase
Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics and financial flows to the suppliers.
Support various Segment Leaders in building strategies in this area, by being part of the early phase investigations with our engineering teams
Work in close cooperation with all buyers on this scope
Actively contribute to the team development, by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers
Competence & Experience
We are looking for a strong and flexible team player, eager to learn and improve;
You have a can-do approach: you have a positive mindset, high level of energy and you are ready to tackle challenges,
You like to do business, you demonstrate superior communication skills and you are comfortable in cross-functional and multi-cultural set-up,
You enjoy managing many parallel activities and you have a target oriented approach,
You have a relevant higher education, as or equal to; Master of Science or Business Administration,
You are proficient in English languages and
Former experience in Electronics scopes, technical background and automotive experience are considered as vital assets.
