We are looking for a project assistant for a 6 month fixed term position within an on-going EU financed project "EDC-MixRisk.

Background
The EDC-MixRisk project was initiated in 2015 financed by a Horizon2020 grant. The research consortium consists of 13 partners in seven countries with Swetox/The Karolinska Institute as coordinator. The EDC-MixRisk project address the impact of early life exposure to mixtures of endocrine disrupting chemicals on health outcomes in children and combine expertise from Epidemiology, Experimental toxicology and Risk assessment.

Subject area
The focus of the present project is experimental studies of endocrine disrupting chemicals and in vitro differentiation and function of cultured human neuronal cells. The experimental approaches include effects on hormone receptor-dependent differentiation pathways, cellular stress-responses, neuronal marker gene expression and morphological differentiation.

Eligibility
The successful candidate should have a basic (BSc) or master degree in Biomedicine or Experimental toxicology or other relevant background and well documented knowledge and experience of work with in vitro cell culture, common techniques for analysis of gene expression and quantitative image analyses of cellular structures and morphology.

The work is performed within an international project platform and requires good command of English, writing skills, and good communicative skills.

Assessment criteria
The person we are looking for have documented experience of independent work with relevant experimental methods and analyses, including hands-on experience from work with in vitro cell models (preferably of neuronal origin), gene expression analyses (RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, quantitative real-time PCR) as well as of immuno-cytochemical staining techniques and image analyses of cellular structures and morphology.

The work includes processing of large sets of data, especially micro images and image analyses thereof and requires a high degree of organisation skills and data handling.

Information
The position is for a fixed term of six month with starting date as soon as possible. The salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The project is in the transition of moving to Örebro university and requires flexibility to perform part of the experimental work at Karlstad university.
