The Department of Biology and Environmental Science is part of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The research activities within this multidisciplinary department include the areas of aquatic ecology, cell and organism biology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, environmental science and environmental engineering as well as zoonotic ecology.
The Department of Biology and Environmental Science seeks a research assistant to join the Marine Phytoplankton Ecology and Applications group to perform such duties as, but not limited to: scientific outreach in the field of marine ecology and environmental science, maritime science, sustainability, and behavioral science. The position includes the development and coordination of the research group’s activities linked to global and societal challenges, and internationalization. The position includes organization of scientific outreach events, resource to international research projects and advanced courses. The MPEA group is developing collaboration with China, thus the candidate can perform English-Chinese translation.
Qualification requirements:
Applicants should have a Bachelor of Arts degree. The applicant should have experience in the following specific and practical techniques: fluent writing and speaking skills in English, Swedish and Chinese, along with a demonstrated ability to manage a wide range of projects in marine and environmental sciences and experience of administrative work within Higher education.
Other assessment grounds:
The successful candidate will have hands-on experience in coordinating workshops and conferences, academic course administration, editing of scientific texts written in English, writing popular science articles in English and Swedish, English-Swedish translation.
Terms of employment:
The position is permanent employment, part time, 80 %.
