* Managing and co-ordinating the staff and activities within PD's (Programme Director's) responsibility;
• Developing new activities related to the three key objectives of Civil Rights Defenders, particularly joint advocacy, which is carried out in cooperation with human rights defenders in target countries. This aspect includes ad hoc reporting on human rights defenders and key human rights issues in the country in question;
• Assessing and making decisions about financial and capacity-building assistance as envisaged by the Europe programme;
• Assessing and making decisions on training packages for human rights defenders, including capacity-building initiatives implemented by Civil Rights Defenders;
• Frequent travels and meetings with human rights defenders in Europe and regular attendance of important events within and for the programme, including public representing of Civil Rights Defenders;
• Reporting on the programme implementation to the Executive Director and respective donors, with members of Europe team
• Monitoring the developments in the area of PD's responsibility;
• Managing and making day-to-day decisions concerning the field offices in Europe
• Writing articles, appeals and statements for the website and the media, and providing the management with draft editorials and supportive documents for debates, when needed.
• Fundraising for programme continuation and extension.

MA in Law, Political Science, International Relations or related fields/areas, including training in international human rights mechanisms;
Minimum of 10 years of working experience with human rights;
Minimum of 10 years of experience of management positions, of which as minimum 5 years in a management team
Working experience in the Western Balkans, preferably in human rights, and extensive knowledge of the human rights situation in Western Balkan countries;
Documented experience of work in the NGO sector, project management and advocacy work;
Fluency in one of Western Balkans languages and English (spoken and written).
