Programme Development Adviser, temporary employment, 12 months
Come and join our exciting Donor Relations teams and support Act Church of Sweden in resource mobilization for our diverse programmes in long term development, humanitarian work and advocacy spanning over 30 countries. We are looking for you who has demonstrated ability for handling multiple, complex fundraising relationships simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Donor Relations team, International Department, Act Church of Sweden
The Organisational Development and Institutional Funding Section is a strategic support function for the International Department. This section is responsible for expert support in strategic management and planning, thematic support to programmes, development of methods and systems as well as increasing funding opportunities.

The Programme Development Advisers sits within the Donor Relations team of this section. The purpose of the Donor Relations team is resource mobilisation, with a focus on securing funding for existing or expanding programmes that can be scaled up through new partners and/ or increased geographical outreach. Act Church of Sweden is currently recruiting staff for one temporary position. This position focuses on finding new funding opportunities for our long-term development and nexus programming as well as our humanitarian programme.

Responsibilities
The position includes coordinating, maintaining and developing long-term relationships with new and existing donors, such as EU, Swedish Embassies, and/or philanthropic organizations, etc. You will represent Act Church of Sweden in strategic meetings and discussions with donors on funding opportunities, on-going contracts, and frame agreements, including opportunities together with other ACT alliance members. In addition, you are responsible for coordinating the fund development process with relevant staff of the regional unit, managing funding proposals within Act Church of Sweden, and formulating and supporting effective grant reporting to donors. You will contribute to the objectives and goals of the Donor Relations team to maximise funding generated from donors for Act Church of Sweden and our partners. Together with the Donor Relations Financial Controller, you will ensure that all relevant staff are informed of the donors' requirements, rules and procedures and ensure that Act Church of Sweden complies with donor requirements.

Qualifications
University education in relevant field, economics, international development and/or humanitarian studies.
Experience in working with humanitarian and/or development programmes is a requirement.
Proven track record of working with institutional donors. This includes working with funding proposals, reporting management and donor compliance, and an understanding of programmatic budgeting.
A good understanding of planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting (PMER) systems and intervention logic.
Effective networking and negotiating skills and an ability to work against and meet funding targets.
Knowledge of the quality and accountability, gender justice, Human Rights based approach, and/or the community-based psychosocial approach is an asset.
Completed courses related to institutional funding, for example EU (DG ECHO, DG DEVCO) etc. is merited.

Additional skills and experiences
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office package.
Understanding the roll of the Church in the development and the humanitarian sector and the ecumenical movement (Lutheran World Federation and the ACT Alliance).
A good understanding of the international development and/or humanitarian sector.
Excellent spoken and written English and Swedish are requirement, Spanish and French language skills are an asset.
Previous experience with prospect research and identification strategies
Experience of cultivating new foundation relationships with large foundations
A strong network of relationships with large private foundations.
Proven track record of foundation growth and experience building a pipeline.
A proven track-record of successfully securing six and seven-figure multi-year grants.
Demonstrated ability for handling multiple, complex fundraising relationships simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organised, independent, reliable and able to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
We are looking for someone who is results and detail orientated and a team player. You are also innovative and have the ability to motivate others. You are experienced at problem solving, have a high level of integrity and take responsibility for your work. We assume you share the values of the Church of Sweden.

Other
This is a fulltime temporary 1 year position, starting as soon as possible. It is anticipated that you will be travelling approximately 11-25 days per year (after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted).
