hela Sverige The Programme Office at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a "Programme Costing Controller".
Description of position/department
The Programme Office is a department responsible for planning, costing and engineering for the development and construction of the European Spallation Source. The department reports to the ESS Programme Director who is responsible for the total ESS programme. The Programme Office currently consists of 3 people but recruitment is ongoing and two to three more people will join the team within the next 6 months.
Description of main responsibilities
The Programme Costing Controller will have full responsibility for the cost estimate and planning of the total ESS programme.
The Programme Costing Controller reports to the Programme Office Manager.
Specifically the responsibility is to
• create, manage and maintain estimates for the total programme for the design & development, construction, operations and decommissioning of the European Spallation Source
• support the sub-projects in the planning, cost estimation and reporting processes
• make forecasts for project spending, schedule and resource needs
• monitor and report programme performance and progress through Earned Value Management
• participate in maintaining and updating the processes for planning, cost estimation and project reporting
• participating in other activities performed by the Programme Office. Qualifications
• Master of Science, Master of Business Administration or other relevant academic degree.
• Experience of working in a complex (both technical but also organisational) project environment.
• Several years experience of planning, cost estimation and project control.
• Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
• Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period.
Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
