Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) seeks a Programme Coordinator for its Security and Development Programme

Context
Established in 1966, SIPRI is consistently ranked as one of the world's top think tanks. The institute is dedicated to independent research into peace, conflict and security and is known worldwide for its flagship publication, the SIPRI Yearbook, and its databases. SIPRI is based in Stockholm, and has well-established, on-the-ground partnerships and operational networks across the globe. The staff of SIPRI is international and the working language is English.

The Security and Development Programme is one of SIPRI's newest research teams, focussing on measuring peace, security and fragility in low- and middle-income countries. In addition to gender research, the Programme also conducts on-going projects on security-sector reform, trends in security and development indictors and impact evaluation in fragile states. The Programme is also responsible for organizing the annual Stockholm Forum on Security and Development.

Eligibility requirements
SIPRI seeks a dynamic individual with the potential to make an outstanding contribution to the Institute's work. Applicants must have demonstrated project management skills and a track record in working with academic and government funding agencies. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in an international environment.
Additional prerequisites include:

• experience in organizing high-level international conferences;
• at least three years' experience in an administrative position, preferably in a policy and/or academic setting;
• experience with administrative and budgeting software packages;
• fundraising and grant-management experience;
• excellent social media and technical skills;
• fluency in English (knowledge of Swedish is not required, but desirable).

Additional languages are an advantage.

SIPRI is committed to achieving workforce diversity in terms of gender, nationality and culture.

The appointment will initially be for seven months (with a probationary period of three months) and is renewable subject to funding. Applications for part-time work will be considered. The salary package will be negotiated individually.
