The role requires close collaboration with GWP staff at country and regional levels as well as with colleagues from the GWPO Secretariat and key strategic partners, particularly at UNEP-DHI. It requires good understanding of multi-stakeholder processes and ideally experience and talent in facilitating such processes.

The Programme Associate, SDG6 will work together with a small team directly comprised of 5 other staff as well as interns, while also backstopping teams across the Network "from behind". The position is located within the Water Solutions for the SDGs, GWP Secretariat's Network Operations team, and reports to the Sr Water Resources Management Specialist, SDG6 Programme.

The Programme Associate, SDG6 is responsible for providing administrative, communicative and programmatic support in implementing the programme to monitor progress on SDG 6.5, and in designing IWRM action plans that aim to increase progress towards that target.

This includes:
(i) Being the first point of contact for the regional and country teams on the administrative aspects of at least 60 workshops to be held around the year in 2020, tracking all related administrative aspects, including the transfer of financial resources, and liaising with regional and country teams;
(ii) ensuring the generation and first level of quality control of the required products such as the completed SDG 6.5.1 survey, photos, the issuing of final reports and related promotional products, including where appropriate social media;
(iii) contributing to workshop design, including facilitation, cataloguing best practices and seeking opportunities for cross-country and cross-regional learning, by documenting and sharing lessons learned;
(iv) developing a dashboard to provide easy-to-access information on the ongoing status, including written reports and the financial situation, for the Sr Water Resources Management Specialist, SDG6 Programme, the GWPO Management Team, and external partners, as required;
(v) contributing to the preparation of fundraising proposals at the global and regional levels to maximise the impacts of the workshops and processes carried out;
