The Program Manager takes overall vendor responsibility for delivering an Enterprise Data Warehouse solution to a Teradata customer, organizing and managing a delivery team with both Teradata and customer participation - a joint team of 20-40 people or more. An initial Enterprise Data Warehouse delivery program will typically span a minimum of 2-3 years, and will often carry on to enable further business improvement opportunities through continued incremental expansion of the capabilities of the enterprise data warehouse.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Drive translation of business requirements into delivery project proposals; prepare project contracts (work agreements / statement of work); secure pre-contract Teradata management review and approval; and support contract negotiations. This includes requirements identification and clarification, project goals and objective definition, scoping, activity planning, staff planning, estimation, risk assessment, project budgeting, etc.
• Planning, implementing and controlling complex data warehouse solution projects, using Teradata's advocated methodologies (Teradata Solutions Methodology; Teradata Project Management)
• Ensure proper set up of projects in the Teradata time keeping system, ensure consultants and contractors are always current with their reported time, produce regular project financial status reports, and drive monthly invoicing for services and deliverables provided.
Education / Experience Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced senior level program manager with the maturity and seniority to handle large and complex projects and customer relationships.
The candidate must have shown the ability to work in a global company and competitive environment (e.g. consulting or vendor firms).
Professional experience & skills:
• Proven experience in understanding the mechanisms of Programme Management, Communication, IT Strategy and Strategic partner management in an international company. Experience working with all organizational levels including C-level.
• Proven leadership skills, verifiable people management skills (managing some 20+ project team members).
• Professional background as Program manager or Project manager including proven organization and planning skills, analyzing and consulting skills, project management methodology, managing complex IT projects, preferably in the Data Warehouse / BI space and with contractual and budgetary responsibility.
• Project Management "toolbox" experience with strong skills, methodologies, methods, and advanced usage of tools
Education:
• B.Sc. or preferably a M.Sc. level degree.
• Evidence of formal project management education/certification is required, e.g. PMP Certification.
