One of Scanias trademark abilities is to give the customer a solution, specifically composed to suit their needs. This is achieved through modularization - creating a design solution that can be combined in almost endless combinations. As Scania is Driving the Shift towards a sustainable transport solution, in the coming years introducing new solutions to the "bygglåda" - it is vital that the modularization is kept.
Here is where You can make a difference! Our responsibility is to ensure that the choices for our customer are kept as open as possible, verifying that different components don't collide with each other - neither by the chosen design geometry, nor by the set of rules (conditions) that are defined in our structure systems (TS/KS/VCR/TCR). We achieve this by using a set of our own unique tools and programs to analyse data fast, efficient and accurately.
We are now changing the way we work towards having faster feedback loops which increases our need of automation and digital support through our tools and programs. Therefor we are now looking to extend our internal competence within the tool and programs area, adding a new colleague to work closely with our most senior expert in the area
Your responsibilities
You will work with many of our programs, redefining them through structured programming to create readable code and reusable components within, creating preconditions for continued automatization. You will be creating and owning new programs based on the needs from the process and the possibilities and limitations within our product description systems, as well as improving on and maintaining the already existing tools that we have. We also have a tool group that supports with programming of the programs and here you will act as a support and teacher.
Your profile
You have worked with programming before and know how to write code in a structured manner. You have qualified experience in the programming VB, VBA and C# and you have a good knowledge of how to structure code with a lean-agile mindset.
You have:
• Product development experience >2 years
• Education within programming - VB,VBA, C#. Programming in Catia merited.
• Alt: applied knowledge of said programming >1 year
• Knowledge of Scania product description TS/KS/TCR/VCR
• Familiarity with XML management and SQL databases
You are pragmatic in your problem solving approach and you are able to use your knowledge of both product development and process flow when searching for the solution. You have a good attention to details without losing focus on the bigger picture and you are able to connect the dots between different data sources and draw conclusions from what you see. You value quality and you are motivated to take responsibility and enjoy working independently, but have no problem contacting and involving colleagues from other departments to solve a problem at hand.
