The appointment is placed at the Unit for Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism at the Department of Pharmacology within the Institute of Neuroscience and Physiology, Sahlgrenska Academy. The unit consists of one professor, two senior lecturers, PhD students and technical and administrative staff. At this unit, biopharmaceutical research, teaching at the undergraduate and advanced level within the dispenser and pharmacy programs and graduate student education,is being conducted. Dina arbetsuppgifterSPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Pharmacotherapy is the field within the pharmacuetical sciences that, for example, deals with the development of individualized pharmacotherapy based both on factors related to the individual and on factors related to the specific properties of the drug. How patient-related aspects such as pathophysiology, age, sex, possible organ dysfunction and concomitant treatment with other drugs on the one hand, and drug-related aspects such as the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and toxicity of the drug on the other, should influence dosing and dose interval, is one example of issues that are studied and communicated within the field of pharmacotherapy. JOB ASSIGNMENTS: The assignments associated with this position comprise research and related activities including supervision of PhD students and generation of external funding, teaching and examining at basic and advanced levels, supervision and examination of graduate theses and course development and management within the pharmacist and prescriptionist programmes.
Utbildning och erfarenhetELIGIBILITY:The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Demonstrated scientific and pedagogical skills. ASSESSMENT:Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The first assessment criterion is scientific skills, the second assessment criterion is pedagogical skills and the third assessment criterion is administrative skills. In addition, documented ability to generate external research funding which are the subject of open competition, for example from the Swedish Research Council and similar financiers, will be attributed particular importance. Ability to cooperate will also be considered. Applicants without education in higher education pedagogics are expected to undertake such within one year of taking up employment.
