Whithin the intitute of health and care science contains training programs, courses and contract training at basic and advanced level in the fields of nursing, radiography, health care education,
reproductive and perinatal health, and graduate studies in health sciences. The Department has 44 registered students where the majority of projects are related to nursing.

Specific subject description
Within the field of nursing we develop the knowledge about health, a good life despite illness or disability and the peaceful and dignified death. Nursing is based on needs and problems related
to health and illness and to daily life, but also the resources and ability to cope with problems. In nursing, it is not illness, disease, disability itself, but people's reactions and interpretation of their
illness that is in focus. Central is a close relationship between the nurse, patient, family and groups. Research in nursing that whithin the institute is part of the subject health sciences
focuses man's experiences in the context of illness, disease and suffering. Within the health sciences human learning is central, as well as how health care is organized.
Job assignments
The holder of this appointment as professor will conduct and develop research in the department by conducting their own research, teaching and supervision of undergraduate,
postgraduate and doctoral levels. The duties also include head of subject at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. As head of subject the responsibility is to develop the subject
along with other head of subjects in the institute. The holder of this appointment as professor will also be included in the department's management team.
Eligibility
The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance.
The qualifications for this position also requires you to be a registered nurse.
Assessment
Criteria for employment of teachers is given in Chapter 4, Section 3-4 § the Higher Education Ordinance.
Primarily is scientific and pedagogical skills. In the assessment of scientific skills, special emphasis will be given to disputation and active ongoing research in the field nursing. In the assessment of pedagogical skills, experience in coaching, teaching and examination in education at the basic, advanced and graduate level in nursing will also be given a special emphasis. Good experience in academic leadership and ability to cooperate is considered a strong merit.
