Mid Sweden University and Fibre Science and Communication Network (FSCN) announces a position as professor in Mechanics of Composite Structures at Campus Sundsvall
Subject description: Persons eligible for employment as Professor in Mechanics of Composite Structures are those who have a strong scientific background in mechanics of composite/sandwich structures and structural design. The main focus of the research for this position will be on mechanics and design aspects of multiply-paper boards as well as corrugated boards used for industrial and consumer packaging. The position will be supported by Bo Rydin Research Foundation, and the initial appointment will be for five years.
Qualifications: The desired qualifications for the position are: a strong scientific background in composite materials and structural mechanics (experience with mechanics of packaging paper and board is an asset); experience in developing research programs, raising outside funds, and successfully executing research projects with desired results; and experience in teaching and developing courses on both undergraduate and graduate levels.
A well-established, international contact network is also desired. Administrative skills and other qualifications of relevance for the position will be considered. Demonstrated leadership ability and management experience, as well as ability to co-operate and communicate with the surrounding community are also essential.
