hela Sverige The Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business offers first and second-cycle courses and study programmes in engineering. At the faculty, research and education is pursued in Industrial Engineering (IE) and offers third-cycle (doctoral) courses in the areas of resource recovery and textiles and fashion. The engineering educations in Industrial Engineering are specialised in logistics, supply chain management, operations management, and manufacturing engineering. The education in Logistics is conducted both as a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering and as courses included in different degree programmes. All courses are conducted with an emphasis on the application of theory based on cooperation between the industry, academia, and society in a so-called triple helix.
In Industrial Engineering, there is a need to increase the research in logistics, supply chain management, operations management, and manufacturing engineering. The professor in logistics will lead the research team and build up a research environment in the field of logistics, connected to the university's research areas The Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery, Textiles and Fashion, and Business and IT. The research team has currently two active researchers and one doctoral student. The team's expertise includes logistics with a focus on distribution/transport, production logistics, supply chain risk management, environmental impact, as well as the application of information and communication technology. The professor is expected to assume a leading role in the design of second (master) and third (doctoral) educations.
Job description
The professor will collaborate with the other professors at the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, and in collaboration with the management of the faculty develop and be responsible for a creative research environment in the research area of logistics with a focus on supply chain management and operations management. The position requires participating in and initiating research projects within the aforementioned research areas, as well as being an active driving force in applying for research funding from external financiers, both for own research as well as a coordinator for the logistics area.
The position also includes teaching, developing study courses and programmes, and supervising first and second-cycle students, and, if applicable, supervising third-cycle (doctoral) students. The professor should also follow the development of the own field as well as the societal development of relevance to the university. The professor is also expected to contribute to the development of the faculty's research environment as well as cooperate with researchers from the university's other research areas such as Business and IT, The Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery, and Textiles and Fashion.
