We are looking for a professor in Information Systems/Informatics for a permanent position at the School of Business.

Subject area
The subject area for this position is Informatics.

Background
Örebro University School of Business (ORUSB) is recruiting a professor in information systems/informatics that can support, strengthen and take a lead in research. The Informatics Department at ORUSB has a long tradition of research and education and is currently in an expansive phase.

Research in Informatics is pursued in the research environment Centre for Empirical Research on Information Systems (CERIS) and deals with the digitalisation of organisations and society. CERIS conducts research in several application areas: automated decision-making/AI; eHealth; digitalization of government; digitalization of developing countries; crisis management; information security; digitalization of school and systems development methods.

Informatics is taught on the Bachelor's Programme of Systems Analysis and the Master's Programme in Information Systems - Information Security Management. The department also offers a study programme at the doctoral level. The goal for the bachelor's programme is to train future IT-consultants in integrating organisational and systems development. The master's programme develops students' ability to manage information security in private and public organisations.

Örebro University is ranked in the 401-500 band in Times Higher Education and ORUSB is AACSB-accredited.

Duties and responsibilities
As a rule, a professor at Örebro University spends the bulk of their working hours on research. A professor is also expected to work actively to bring in external research grants to the subject, take overall responsibility for its research activities, and monitor developments within the subject field internationally. A professor is expected to be involved at all three levels of higher education and to communicate and collaborate around their own and the department's research activities.

A professor is moreover expected, within the scope of their employment, to make themselves available for executive and administrative assignments at the university. We wish that you can play a central and leading role in scientific collaboration and development of the subject. Considering the nature of the tasks, high attendance at the workplace is important.

Qualifications
A person who has demonstrated both research and teaching expertise is qualified for employment as a professor.

A general eligibility criterion for permanent teaching positions at Örebro University is that the applicant has completed courses on teaching and learning in higher education corresponding to 10 weeks. Knowledge and skills equivalent to such courses may also be assessed to establish whether these provide eligibility. This assessment will be made by Örebro University. For appointment as professor, the applicant must also have completed courses on doctoral supervision. A professor who at the time of appointment does not meet these criteria must complete the required courses no later than within two years of taking up the position.
