Dina arbetsuppgifterSUBJECT AREA DESCRIPTION: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is an interdisciplinary subject in which biological, psychological, pedagogical and social knowledge is integrated. This subject covers the treatment, follow-up and prevention of mental ill-health and disturbance among children and young persons. It also includes detailed knowledge about how psychopathological disorders in young people are affected by age, gender, cognition, physical health, and psychological and social factors. JOB ASSIGNMENTS: Research to understand the neural bases for deficiencies in social instinct and interaction in autism, ADHD and other developmental/psychiatric functional impairments, and to develop neural biomarkers that can help to objectify the effects of different treatment approaches, both behaviour-oriented and pharmacological approaches. The successful applicant will have the necessary skills and experience to conduct anatomical and functional studies using neuroimaging and neurophysiological/neuropsychological methods, as well as behavioural methods to study normal and deviant brain in relation to autism, ADHD and related functional impairments. The position also includes the teaching of child and adolescent psychiatry.
Utbildning och erfarenhetELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. Qualification as a registered medical practitioner and demonstrated scientific and pedagogical skills. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The first assessment criterion is scientific skills. The second assessment criterion is pedagogical skills. Great importance will be given to well documented research and educational expertise within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. The successful applicant may also be asked to complete and educational training program within the first year of employment. The applicant who is relevant for the position will have his/hers pedagogical merits validated before the Vice-Chancellor makes a decision about the employment.
