A focus on applied research is preferred, with a direction towards district heating, wind power, solar energy, biomass, effective use of energy, or higher level renewable energy system analysis
The applicant must hold a doctoral degree in energy systems/electricity/physics or closely related fields. The applicant must demonstrate a strong, currently active research profile in the above fields. The overall scientific production should be extensive in high-quality research journals. Relevant pedagogical education is required (may however be completed during the first two years of employment), and experience from course development at different levels is a strong merit. Documented education in, and experience from, supervision is a requirement.
Assessment criteria
For appointment as professor, the following assessment criteria will be applied:

• Ability to conduct research of high international quality in the area of renewable energy
• Ability to attract external funding
• Experience in supervision of master/PhD students
Other qualifications:
• Documented experience from research in collaboration with industrial partners
Application

The application shall consist of:
1. A declaration of intent describing what goals and visions the applicant would strive to achieve upon employment.

3. A complete list of scholarly publications.
4. An account of the applicant's claims for assessment of the bases for evaluation: a) Scientific/scholarly skills should be documented and include scientific background, scientific production, national and international research contacts, expert, opponent or examination board commissions etc. Examples of documentation are thesis, articles, reviews, publications (including work in progress), national and international prizes and awards, assessment of docent qualifications, certificates and credentials pertaining to scientific skills as well as doctoral and master's theses the candidate/applicant has supervised to completion. b) Pedagogical skills should be documented and include pedagogical background, the applicant's/candidate's pedagogical ethos/approach/philosophy, how the applicant/candidate works with his/her and the students' learning development and contributes to pedagogical development etc. Examples of documentation are grades/credentials from courses in teaching and learning in higher education and other pedagogical education and courses in supervision, evaluations, self-assessments, pedagogical prizes, course and conference programmes, teaching material, certificates and assessments of pedagogical skills etc. c) Leadership and administrative skills should be well documented through certificates and/or grades. These may also be complemented with references. d) Collaboration with the surrounding community should be well documented through certificates and/or grades. These may also be complemented with references.
5. A maximum of ten (10) publications.
