Your workplace
Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
In Jönköping, we develop and manufacture qualified equipment based on electronics, mechanics, and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we are supplier of equipment to two of the major aircraft manufacturers in the world, Boeing and Airbus.
Your role
In your role as production engineer you will participate in multiple parallel development projects simultaneously. You work application-oriented and in close cooperation with engineering, purchasing and production. You will also have external contacts with suppliers, customers, etc.
The work requires that you have a holistic view of the production phase from prototypes to the maintenance market where the manufacturability way of thinking is in all phases of the lifecycle. We are looking for someone who will work with the systematic development, efficiency and quality assurance of new and existing products and production equipment.
You will be working to develop its manufacturing processes by continuous improvement and eliminating of waste and also to issue / update documentation, procedures and instructions. The work is performed both continuously and on a project basis. You are part of a production engineering dept of about 13 people responsible for production technical know-how which the efficiency of production and production of test equipment is part of the work.
Your qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in production technical work in electronics products, preferably in combination with mechanics or optics. Experience in industries with high reliability requirements such as medical, automotive, rail industry and other areas is a plus. You have a technical education at secondary or university level.
As a person you are communicative and pedagogical. The work involves a lot of collaboration with multiple functions within the company. You thrive in the role of running several projects concurrently, work systematically and document your work. You speak English in speech and writing.
