NaturaLens is a start-up company mandated to manufacture bioengineered products as well as conducting research and development in the field of bioengineering. NaturaLens is a pioneer in bio-innovation and one of the winners of the EIT-Health Wildcard competition supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
NaturaLens' primary product will be a natural-based, high quality, cost effective and safe bioengineered contact lens to meet the huge demand of the world population suffering from low vision.
The company's core value is to offer hope and make an impact by improving vision, patient care, and life quality for the millions of people worldwide suffering from corneal and eye related diseases and conditions.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As a production/quality control engineer your primary responsibilities will include development and manufacturing of bioengineered contact lenses as well as implementing quality standards, inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products. You will develop quality control systems and determining corrective actions and work with managers/supervisors to implement quality measures.
You will also be providing logistic and support working with the rest of the team to help make the manufacturing process more efficient. Your tasks will include meticulous documentation control and management, assisting in collecting data or samples for different test purposes and experiments. You will have to assist in sterile and non-sterile procedures as well as daily cleaning routines and assist the quality assurance team. Performance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment will also be implemented as needed.
Education, Experience and Personal characteristics:
• A bachelor or master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering and Sciences, Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• It is important that the university degree, or related experience, has not been obtained more than 10 years before the start of this employment.
• Fluent in English
• Meritorious: relevant working experience and other language skills, as Swedish. Prior experience and expertise in biomaterials and tissue engineering and the regulatory pathway of medical devices and products is an asset but not a must. We value the cultural fit and attitude higher than formal experience.
