hela Sverige As Production Manager for Rexam Beverage Can Fosie, which is one of the largest can plant within Rexam, you have a key position. You report to the Plant Manager, act as his deputy and you are a part of the local management team. You have a total organization of approximately 180 employees with six shift managers reporting directly to you.
Your main responsibilities and duties
To plan, direct and manage the manufacturing process, providing the focus and leadership which will build and develop an effective team in order to maintain maximum safety, environmental, quality and production standards.
Some of your main duties will be to:
• Achieve daily manufacturing output in line with budget and forecast.
• Lead, develop, implement and follow up Lean activities and Six Sigma projects within the plant.
• Reduce downtime, spoilage, usages, labour and maintenance costs to best practice limits.
• Ensure that the quality of the product meets customer requirements.
• Investigate/Follow up on all process problems ensuring necessary corrective actions are taken and maintained.
• Propose rationalisation and investment activities.
• Create an environment that will promote safe working practices and good housekeeping.
• Ensure that all team members are trained/supervised to carry out their duties effectively and to the highest standard of quality and safety.
• Provide positive and corrective feedback to team members.
• Act as part of the plant management team.
Your background and profile
You have worked a couple of years as a manager within manufacturing in a high speed/high volume continuous process. You have good understanding of modern Lean manufacture techniques and it is a merit if you are a certified Black Belt. You are able to communicate effectively (both written and oral) in English and Swedish. You have a university degree or similar within engineering and you have good computer skills.
It is important that you have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead through others. You are a passionate change agent, who shows accountability and who loves to initiate, lead and follow up on improvements/changes. You are both result- and people oriented and you are good at building relationships with other people. You are loyal, energetic, open minded and non-prestigious.
